Manager of Strategic Solutions

Position Description

The Manager of Strategic Solutions is responsible for improving UBA's value to our Partner Firms via our vendor partners called Alliances. Working with an internal team, and committees from the partnership, this role will support initiatives designed to bring innovative solutions to Partner Firms and improve awareness of UBA's portfolio of products and services throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support committees tasked with identifying and vetting products and services that offer value to UBA Partner Firms. This includes coordinating calls, researching and gathering information for vetting purposes.
  • Assist with the communication and launch of new Alliances selected by the Committees.
  • Design and implement reporting to monitor adoption and assess satisfaction of UBA Alliances by Partner Firms.
  • Assist with the logistics of marketing campaigns promoting vendors to UBA agencies.
  • Manage the monthly employee benefits webinar series.
  • Work with Director, Strategic Solutions to make recommendations to committees on opportunities with solution providers that may benefit Partner Firms and their clients
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and vendors through research and participation in industry events
    • Conduct interviews of interested external vendors as part of the initial vetting process
    • Maintain a database of solution providers in the employee benefit space for potential vetting
  • Prepare and ensure timely delivery and receipt of annual vendor agreements.
  • Participate in onboarding new Alliances, as needed.
  • Track Alliance Page references/comments and ensure agency engagement.
  • Conduct training on the offerings of UBA Alliances to current or prospective UBA Partner Firms.
  • Assist in securing sponsorships from UBA Alliances for UBA Conferences and Academies and ensure proper tracking and fulfillment of those sponsorships
  • Coordinate and participate as needed in quarterly calls with UBA Carrier Alliances and manage applicable follow-up.
  • Assist with the collection and maintenance of financial reporting from Carrier Alliances
  • Conducting quarterly outreach to select Partner Firms to support and encourage their engagement.
  • Manage ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years' experience in the employee benefits industry - preferably at a brokerage firm or insurance carrier
  • Active Life and Health license preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related degrees
  • Demonstrated ability in relationship development
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced level proficiency with technology including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience with CRMs.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, organization and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated with high desire to learn and grow and add value
