Who we are: Bamboo Teri House is a well-established, family-owned Japanese restaurant in Bixby Knolls that has been in business for almost 40 years. The atmosphere is low stress, and many of our employees have been with us for over 10 years.

Who we are looking for: We are searching for someone that is looking for a part time position and has interest/experience with Japanese cuisine and the art of making sushi. The applicant should be knowledgeable about food preparation, food handling/safety guidelines. Food Handler’s certificate will be required once fully trained. Kitchen experience is a plus.

Responsibilities will include preparing sushi ingredients (vegetables, fish, sauces, salad) and making orders. You will be expected to be knowledgeable about food preparation and proper storage, preparing customer orders, and maintaining a clean work environment. You will be expected to be able to multitask during busy times and help out in other areas of the kitchen if others need help.

Hours: we are very flexible with our scheduling. Looking for someone that can work part-time, either lunch shift (approximately 10am-3:30pm) or dinner shift (3:30-8:30pm)

Compensation: initial training rate starts at $15.00 (training is usually about 4-8 weeks) and after completion of training the hourly rate will increase to $15.50-19.50 per hour depending on the applicant’s experience.

Room for Advancement: Based on performance in the first 6 to 9 months you may be promoted to kitchen lead, if you are interested. If you are promoted your hourly rate will increase by ($1.50 per hour). You will learn how to prepare different bases, sauces, and dressings. You will work directly with the kitchen manager to manage the schedule, ensure quality control, reduce waste/costs. As kitchen lead you will become knowledgeable on how to work other areas of the kitchen
