This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. In this position, you will work at one of the following schools in a summer reading loss prevention program called Level Up for Grades: Caze, Fairlawn, Delaware, Evans, Glenwood, Chandler, and Oakdale Elementary. Opportunities include the roles of morning assistant teacher and afternoon enrichment staff. Staff may work both roles or just one (AM and/or PM) and receive up to 35 hours per week. This program runs Monday - Friday starting Tuesday, May 30th to June 30th.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.
• Complete required abuse risk management training.
• Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
• Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
• Provide support to EVSC teachers during a summer academic program from 8:00am-11:30am serving 1st - 3rd graders.
• Afternoon enrichment staff will provide 4.5 hours of activities including character development, physical activity, nutrition, art and music, and educational field trips in the community

QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen and Blood Borne Pathogen training required within 60 days of employment.
• Child Abuse Prevention training required before/on first day of working with youth.
