ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for the daily inbound/out shipments, including preparation of customer orders according to sales orders. Other responsibilities would include the overall assignments on the dock, cooler and freezer. This position typically works traditional hours, but occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays maybe required to successfully meet customers’ needs.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Operates forklift and electric pallet jack as needed
  • Inspect product being received for damages
  • Responsible for the sanitary tasks on the dock, including the cooler, freezer and trucks as assigned. This includes sweeping, soaping, brushing and drying floors, racks, and walls.
  • Responsible for all out of state and in-state orders and in-bound shipments.
  • Receive inbound shipments. Scan all items to inventory according to company procedures, verify all items received with PO and perform a visual check of items received.
  • Ship outbound shipments. Scan orders, palletize orders, verify product numbers and lot numbers on all frozen and fresh orders, stage orders and load orders appropriately on to trucks.
  • Keep cooler and freezer organized according to product location map.
  • Rotate older lot number products from cooler to freezer to maintain freshness.
  • Ensure proper product picking.
  • Ensure all time guidelines are met for deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Operate mechanical equipment as required, i.e., electronic pallet jack, fork-lifts, etc.
  • Adhere to all Federal, State, Local and Company safety and security regulations and policies.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and use company equipment, (i.e., fork-lift, rider truck, pallet jacks, dollies, scanners, walkie-talkies, and cleaning equipment)
  • Assist in securing the delivery load
  • Assist in delivering materials on time
  • Daily merchandising schedule as outlined by manager
  • Provide excellent customer service to all assigned accounts
  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative, and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and others you encounter through your job
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including holidays and weekends depending on company’s needs.
Requirements:

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Knowledge of state, local and federal food safety laws including SQF, USDA, GMP’s, CCP, HACCP, SSOPs and SOPs, Food Defense and Food Safety Culture guidelines and regulations.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work in cold temperature (below 0 to 40 degree) work areas.
  • Can read, write, communicate, and comprehend the English language sufficiently to perform various tasks of the job, including but not limited to; read labels, signage, communicating with co-workers, understanding oral and written instructions, accurately completing various shipping papers, reports, and records required of the position.
  • Ability to operate various types of configurations of equipment assigned, including various types of forklifts and handheld scanners with training.
  • Possess good judgement necessary to perform the functions of the job including operating a forklift in a safe and lawful manner, handling products safely and efficiently.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma / Equivalent GED Preferred Associates Degree or Bachelors
  • 2 years of shipping/receiving experience
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Must be forklift certified

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
