The SBA Manager will be the subject matter expert relative to SBA lending for the Bank. This role will effectively be the SBA’s primary point of contact for the Bank. Primary responsibilities will be to lead the processing of all bank approved loan requests that require the guarantee of the SBA credits from loan approval to closing, assuring eligibility in fulfilling of the transaction. The incumbent will see to it that all necessary documents are completed accurately assuring compliance with loan policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The SBA Manager will work cooperatively with other departments of the Bank to assure a smooth and efficient workflow in loan fulfillment and customer loan support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Process the required documentation of SBA loans, including 7a and 504 programs. Assure a smooth and efficient workflow in loan fulfillment and customer loan support.
  • Understand and maintain updates on SBA Processing/SOP Requirements
  • Review and quality check loan files, ordering of appraisals, title work, flood determinations, and any other necessary documents.
  • Manage the 4506C submission process
  • Perform mandated SBA transactional requirement such as CAIVRS, SAM, et al.
  • Administer the payment of the SBA guaranty fee
  • Responsible for monthly 1502 report along with secondary market reporting, if applicable
  • Works directly with customers, loan officers and credit analysts, providing excellent customer service by answering questions pertaining to SBA lending.
  • Act as the Bank’s primary point of contact for audits conducted by, or on behalf of the SBA.
  • Provide/assist in training of Bank lending personnel in the submission of SBA loan applications and the parameters used to make loan decisions.
  • Acts affirmatively in all activities under his/her control in conformance with the Bank's Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity, an Equal Opportunity Lending programs to achieve the Bank's goals and objectives.
DIMENSIONS
Ability to function in a high volume environment with a loan range of $10,000 to $5,000,000 in aggregate bank exposure.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • Bachelor Degree in a field relevant to business/finance or equivalent professional work experience.
  • At least five years of direct SBA processing and lending experience.
  • Prior experience with ETRAN and other SBA-related platforms.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • Formal credit analysis training equivalent
