Summary:
The Estes Park Trail Gazette is seeking a Multimedia Reporter to join our team. This position is based in Estes Park, Colorado.
The reporter will be responsible for covering multiple news beats and leading our local sports coverage. The reporter will take photos and videos, post online daily and work with our social media. The reporter will be required to work on a tight deadline.
What you will do:

News reporting and writing, shooting videos, using social media, and creating enterprising content

Responsible for helping grow a digital audience with daily postings online, on social media, etc.

Experiments with new digital tools and platforms

Page design/ pagination processing
What you will bring:
-
Well-versed in AP style
-
Strong reporting, writing, organizational, and story structure skills
-
Experience at a daily newspaper or online news outlet
-
Understands the imperatives of emerging and existing platforms, including web, mobile, and print
-
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to work under tight deadline constraints

Journalism degree or equivalent experience

Prefer five years’ experience in writing or reporting for a media outlet
Work Environment:

Must live in the area or county

Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and odd hours if necessary/news required

The hourly wage is $18.00 - $20.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition program, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
