Recruitment Specialist

General Description

The position of Recruitment Specialist (RS) is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and improvement of the recruitment process in the organization, as well as coordinating and tracking the Professional Development of existing employees. The RS evaluates different recruitment channels and sources their performance for various job positions and investigates opportunities and recommends best performing avenues. The incumbent will work with Senior Management on developing, tracking and coordinating professional development tracks for up and coming employees with the organization(s).

Key Duties

  • Establishes recruiting requirements by meeting with managers to determine needs; ensures positions are budgeted and approved.
  • Develops corporate recruitment process, including standardized ad templates, employment focused marketing materials, etc.
  • Develop Interviewing Skills workshop and train all hiring managers on key elements when interviewing potential candidates.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, job fairs, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by reviewing resumes and comparing qualifications to job requirements. Assists in coordinating interviews and may provide assistance in interviewing applicants; analyzing responses and verifying references.
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Stays in tune to business employment trends and benefits by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Works with Senior Management on developing Individual Development Plans and coordinates plans with respective employee.
  • Locates and Schedules external training and coordinates internal training, in conjunction with an employee s IDP.
  • Tracks and follows up with Managers and employees, regarding IDP status.

Qualification Requirements

  • General. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Education and Experience. This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Recruitment Specialist. A high school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Psychology preferred. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees. One (1) - two (2) years in a similar role with a proven track record in a recruitment role with responsibility for screening, interviewing, and hiring for multiple positions concurrently. Working knowledge of employment law. Excellent computer literacy and application skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Skilled at researching, investigation and garnering information from internet and other resources. Experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Recruitment Specialist to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • Periodic physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to periodically stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
    • Ability to lift, on a frequent basis as required, at least 25 pounds personally and the ability to carry up to 15 pounds personally as required.
  • Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Recruitment Specialist encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
    • Work is performed predominately indoors.
    • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to elevated levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.
    • Employee occasionally works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
