Essential Healthcare Solutions is looking for a qualified Radiology Technologist. The Radiology Technologist is responsible for providing services for on-site clinic health units or events in support of NYCHH contracts for rapid deployments to support emergency and disaster efforts. This is a temporary position, and the length of assignment may vary based on operational needs and client requirements.
Qualifications
Pay Rate: $40.00 hr.
Travel, lodging, and per diem allowances will be provided in accordance with GSA guidelines

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for providing services for on-site clinic health units or events in support of NYCHH contracts for rapid deployments to support emergency and disaster efforts. Qualifications
- Must have completed an approved Radiology Technologist program leading to a Diploma, Certificate or Associate degree
- Two years (2) experience as a Radiology Technologist
- Valid license and current registration to practice as a Radiological Technologist in the state of New York and to be favorably credentialed
- CT experience needed
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required
- Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
- Location of services may at times be in remote, austere, or challenging environments
- Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high paced environment without physical limitations
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities
- May require bending, stooping, and lifting as required for patient care and transport
- The Radiology Technologist is responsible for providing services for on-site clinic health units or events in support of NYCHH contracts for rapid deployments to support emergency and disaster efforts

- Provides services at the scope and level of a Radiology Technologist to preserve the health of employees and client personnel
- Assists and guides Radiographers in performance of x-ray procedures
- Performs routine procedures on patients whose condition requires specialized expertise
- Prepares radiological area, equipment, contrast materials and supplies as needed for patients
- Assists Radiologist, other Physicians, and allied health care professionals in
- performing diagnostic or treatment procedures
- Performs diagnostic testing on equipment and general maintenance
- Develops film in accordance with photographic techniques
- Monitors patients and equipments condition during procedure and reports changes to appropriate health care professional
- Performs diagnostic imaging examinations like X-rays, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, mammography, and ultrasound
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
- Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position; adjustment equipment controls to set exposure factors
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment; answering questions
- Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart
- Maintains production and quality of radiograph or other media by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments
- Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
- Maintains radiology supplies and inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Other duties and projects as assigned
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in performing MRI procedures.
- Valid license and current registration to practice as a Radiological Technologist issued by NYS DOH.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping, and lifting as required for patient care and transport.
