LGESMI seeking an experienced motivated and results-oriented Production Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Hazel Park, Michigan. This is an exciting, collaborative and highly impactful role.

The Production Engineer assists and supports the Production Manager to achieve and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and delivery. This position is also responsible for assisting operations and plan production schedules.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for full production sequence and flow on operations material and machines
  • Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes
  • Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process guidelines are being followed and adhered to
  • Helps the Production Manager by maintaining and gathering data used to maintain a high level of production
  • Maintain manufacturing processes using common methods and systems
  • Responsible for identifying equipment/tooling alternatives
  • Ensure effective utilization of personnel and keep up output demands
  • Manage the reduction scrap and waste materials
  • Apply lean manufacturing initiatives and best practices
  • Work with maintenance team on any operational and maintenance problems as required
  • Support & actively interact with manufacturing operations team
  • Create and develop standardized work instruction
  • Develop action plans as required to find root cause and investigate quality concerns
  • Validate internal processes and supplier requirements
  • Ability/Experience in using strong skills in analyzing, troubleshooting and evaluating problems
  • Exceptional computer skills, especially in excel


Requirements:


Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Operations or Business

Minimum of 0-3 years of experience working hands on in automotive manufacturing environment

Working knowledge in Lean Manufacturing

Strong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines

Overtime required to support production on off-shifts

Must be highly detail-oriented and organized

Must have excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities

Proven ability in project management skills

Ability to work within a diverse team
