Position: Payroll Analyst
Salary: $70,000 - $100,000

Location:
North America | USA | Remote
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Analyst. The Payroll Analyst, under general supervision, oversees the processing of payroll data, ensures that computing, withholding, or deductions associated with net pay are done properly, is responsible for guaranteeing employees are paid correctly and on-time and participates in continuous improvement initiatives related to systems and payroll processing.
Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process the bi-weekly and weekly U.S. payrolls and work with HRSS to maintain accurate payroll and employee data.
  • Resolve any issues/questions by supervisors or other parties in a timely and professional manner.
  • Research and analyze discrepancies and processes appropriate corrections; ensures the accuracy of payroll.
  • Handle the processing of stock option income for W-2 reporting.
  • Work with the Payroll Group to process supplemental payrolls, as required.
  • Generate and distributes PeopleSoft and Kronos queries and reports.
  • Create and transmits data files to bank, tax filing vendor, and 3rd party service providers.
  • Administer union dues deductions and payments.
  • Maintain data changes and corrections in the Kronos Time & Attendance System.
  • Track and manage the garnishment process by reviewing, entering, reporting, responding to and coordinating payments.
  • Research and reply to questions from employees and management relating to payroll and the PeopleSoft and Kronos Systems.
  • Coordinate vacation and floating holiday balances in compliance with collective bargaining agreements and for accuracy, appropriateness, and MTI policy compliance.
  • Review timesheets for days/hours worked and calculate and record salary adjustments as necessary.
  • Configure and provide day to day support of Oracle Workforce Compensation (eComp) System.
  • Provide support of eComp (Oracle Workforce Compensation) System during Merit cycle, Annual Bonus process, and other various plant bonus cycles.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interact with vendors.
  • Research bank notifications.
  • Provide information for internal/external audits.
  • Assist with System upgrades implementation and testing.
  • Prepare duplicate W-2 forms, as requested.
  • Offer training to Kronos and PeopleSoft users.
  • Submit Global Supplier Requests for garnishment payees.
  • Support the Energy Services NAV General Ledger reporting process.
Operational Excellence
  • Actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Payroll functional knowledge. Experience with PeopleSoft HRIS and Kronos Time and Attendance System. Knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll laws. Problem solving skills. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and all levels of management. Ability to provide effective and clear instructions and training to employees and management on PeopleSoft and Kronos System features and functions. Excellent attention to detail to ensure timely and accurate processing of the payroll. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Advanced skills in Excel.

Travel:
Travel may occur domestically and internationally seldomly.

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to regularly conduct work from home, sitting at a desk, using office equipment, including but not limited to a personal computer, scanner, copier and telephone, read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, can work independently, be dependable and maintain confidential information, integrity and composure at all times.
Constant contact with individuals internal and external to the organization at all levels occurs via various methods of communication, typically including face-to-face discussions, electronic mail, phone calls, written letters and/or faxes.
On an as needed basis, there will be exposure to plant areas, which include exposure to outside weather conditions as well as loud noise from equipment and dust from production processes.
The employee is expected to be self-directed, take initiative and be persistent when appropriate to accomplish necessary duties and keep busy without prompting. Additionally, the employee is expected to be adaptable/flexible to changing work assignments, analytical, organized and detail-oriented, perform multiple tasks at once, compose correspondence and other documentation in a professional manner, express ideas constructively, actively listen to others, manage time effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines, learn and memorize procedures, display a cooperative attitude, read, understand and follow all company, job specific and safety policies/procedures, and attend/use all required training.

Work Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM but must have ability to work the number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays, and weekends, as necessary.
