Parts Specialist Job at Classic City Marinas, LLC
The parts specialist controls and administers all aspects of the parts department including inventory monitoring and reconciliation, purchase orders, receiving, binning, and distribution and allocation of inventory to all internal and external repair orders. Owing to the high resource demands of the service department, the parts specialist must be extremely organized, forward-thinking, and must possess the skills required to proactively manage parts and accessories to maintain a smooth workflow and high working efficiency. He/she will maintain a constant line of communication with the service writer to ensure that current and future repair orders are fulfilled with the parts necessary to allow for completion within expected timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Orders and purchases necessary parts for sales inventory and service inventory and repair orders.
- Verifies, documents, and labels all part numbers from appropriate catalogs and vendors.
- Contacts vendors through various mediums for parts orders and returns.
- Checks all incoming purchases against invoices; stocks supplies in appropriate locations.
- Maintains a pending and up-to-date file of purchase orders and C.O.D.'s and communicates directly with accounts payable.
- Keeps a general inventory of all parts in stock.
- Communicates with technicians about needed parts including timeline, repair order scope, kits, etc.
- Works intimately in computer-based applications including Lightspeed, vendor sites, and other online portals
