Join the team of an events and marketing agency as a hybrid Outreach Communications Coordinator for one of its healthcare clients. This is an 18-month part-time contract position. Candidates local to the Atlanta, GA area encouraged to apply.

The Outreach Communications Coordinator will assist the customer (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)) and state agencies in disseminating information to Medicaid/CHIP beneficiaries as it pertains to coverage eligibility and information updates following the official end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) (a process called Unwinding). This position will be the liaison of information, messaging, and resources produced by the state agencies to local advocacy and community partner organizations, who will be outreaching to individual beneficiaries potentially at risk or have lost coverage.

Outreach Communications Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Secure promotional materials prepared by the state, and state coalitions and distribute to partner organizations.
• Ensure that Medicaid/CHIP and Marketplace partners have the appropriate materials for any outreach or educational events for Medicaid/CHIP beneficiaries.
• Develop and prepare a list of targeted state-local advocacy/community organizations that can help share information.
• Develop a detailed execution plan for target areas needing Unwinding support, including timeline, materials/resources, outreach, and education plans, community partners/organizations, coordination efforts with client components, applicable state agencies and coalitions, navigator/assisters, and other stakeholders, as identified.
• Facilitate meetings in each state to bring together CMS components, CMS Regional Offices, applicable state agencies, local advocacy/community organizations, navigators and other assisters, and other organizations that CMS identifies to help execute outreach.

Outreach Communications Coordinator Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 3-5+ years of overall experience. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid, a plus.
• Community outreach experience, desired.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational culture
• Ability to thrive in a work environment that requires solid and independent problem-solving skills, self-direction, and innovative thinking.
