About Pinckney Cookie Cafe
Pinckney Cookie Cafe is a Seattle-area artisanal cookie bakery. Using only the highest-quality ingredients and gourmet — and often creative — twists on classic recipes, we bake better-than-homemade cookies. Our “Miracle Cookies” line is vegan and gluten-free, but is just as chewy and delicious as traditional cookies. Currently, we’re an online store and can be found at farmers markets around the Seattle area. We are also in the process of opening a retail store in Kirkland.

Job Description

Be part of the team sharing the world’s best cookies! As our Farmers Market Sales Associate, you’ll be the face of Pinckney Cookie Cafe at our markets, manning our booth and selling our cookies while enjoying time outside and interacting with market-goers.

You’re a customer service star and love engaging with people — and you especially love introducing them to our cookies, whether they’re new fans or regulars curious about trying different flavors.

We are currently in the Ballard and West Seattle farmers markets on Sundays and the University District farmers market on Saturdays, all year round, and at the Queen Anne Farmers market during their June to October season.

Job responsibilities include:

• Preparing for the market at our baking facility, including loading gear into the vehicle

• Setting up the booth at the market, including unloading the booth gear and products and assembling it before the market starts

• Engaging with customers to sample, enjoy and purchase gourmet cookies for the duration of the market (4-5 hours)

• Upon the market’s close, counting the proceeds and paying the booth fee; deconstructing the booth; returning the gear and unsold products to the baking facility, and putting the gear and products away in their proper place

Job Position Requirements:

• You are reliable, punctual and professional
• You have strong customer service and sales skills, are skilled at starting conversations and making people feel welcome, and are committed to representing the Pinckney Cookie Cafe brand in all interactions
• You have very strong attention to detail

• You have the ability to handle significant physical work. This includes being on one’s feet all day and dealing with bulky items, such as large tubs of cookies

• You are comfortable handling touch tablets and credit card readers

• You have consistent access to a vehicle

• Previous experience in hospitality/food is a plus

• Must be able to speak, read and write English

• You have the ability to work weekends and specific days of the week, depending on farmers market season, as needed

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• You have a WA food handlers' permit (or are in the process of obtaining one)
