Richfield Living, in Salem, VA, is accepting applications for an energetic, creative, and self- motivated Maintenance Tech. This position may require work at both our Salem and Roanoke campus. This is a FT/Non-Exempt role that reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Schedule*: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm, evening and weekend hours are required. On call as needed.

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for daily operations of maintenance in assigned areas. This position pertains to a lot of independent "hands on" task. Review electronic maintenance requests and perform routine maintenance of the facility grounds. Conduct daily tours of the facility for safety surveillance to monitor potentially unsafe work areas, equipment and practices and ensure compliance of Life Safety regulations governing the skilled nursing facilities. Use your knowledge and skills of plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry in the implementation of repair projects and preventive maintenance schedules. Ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner.

Qualifications: *

  • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations related to maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize workloads, organize and administer residential services.

  • Experience managing others to meet targeted goals and customer service satisfaction.
  • Ability to work and act independently.
  • Appropriate technology skillset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Approach each situation proactively and with a sense of urgency.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years maintenance experience required. Experience working with senior population(s) within a senior living community preferred.
