JOB OVERVIEW
As Head of Go-To-Market (GTM), this leader will have a pivotal role in the Payments division of KeyBank. This leader is results-driven, a creative thinker who drives towards independent and creative solutions that go beyond the standard methods, and knows how to organize data and inputs into meaningful and actionable solutions. Core responsibilities include collaborating with senior management to build and lead the go-to-market strategy and execution to drive growth. This GTM leader will set the strategic vision, connect that strategic vision to operational reality, determine if an idea is commercially viable, and then incubate & launch successful ideas in partnership with the broader organization.
The GTM leader will scale a high performing team to create a corporate narrative that drives brand awareness, market position and new revenue for KeyBank Payments. This leader will head an organization that is responsible for brand, visual identity, PR, Events/Webinars/Podcasts, Content, GTM strategy, Product and Demand Gen including SEO/SEM. This role will be both strategic and tactical in scope as it provides a unique opportunity to help both shape and bring a brand to life and set a new creative standard within the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead baseline industry and competitive research to develop comprehensive view of target markets and marketing strategies
  • Define, manage, and execute go-to-market strategies for new and existing product initiatives including; defining solution and feature capabilities that are required to meet market need, audience definition, product positioning, comms architecture, launch strategy, customer engagement and sales enablement
  • Develop innovative Payments product marketing strategies and plans designed to achieve segment revenue targets and business objectives, serving as strategic and consultative partner at the most senior and executive levels of assigned segments, establishing effective relationships with partners both within and outside of Payments and coaching and developing team members to maximize performance and drive engagement.
  • Develop and manage a yearly marketing and external communications plan that supports and informs KeyBank’s Payments product and revenue goals
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget. Deliver against revenue targets and maintain ROI thresholds
  • Establish and then grow awareness of KeyBank’s payment brand within the fintech space
  • Build and actively manage a team of professionals with a focus on development and employee engagement; set clear direction and expectations; motivate and manage team to be keenly focused on delivering value for the lines of business
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of Payments product marketing and communications including brand positioning, corporate narrative, content, external comms, sales enablement collateral, website, social, GTM, demand gen, events, operations
  • Build a data-driven martech approach across all channels
  • Build ROI framework and measure performance of all campaigns and initiatives
  • Provide insights from the competitive environment; recommend opportunities to differentiate Key from the competitors
This leader must:
  • Be a tenured, go to market strategy developer, brand and communications powerhouse who is a champion storyteller, brand marketer
  • Have a revenue-centric, value creation focus with strength in problem-solving and analytics
  • People leader able to create and drive a culture of collaboration and excellence
  • Interest in working in a start-up type culture, tolerance for change and ambiguity

Required Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services or similar, doing go to market, strategy development, or solution/product management or marketing
  • People leader of small GTM team, with proven experience driving culture of collaboration and excellence, including coaching, developing and recruiting talent
  • Proven experience and success across multiple disciplines of marketing and communications
  • Possess balanced mix of creative, analytical and business acumen, including ROI and attribution model experience
  • Established ability to build strategic marketing plans based on targeted segment profiles
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence the most senior leaders in the organization
  • Executive presence with comfort level / experience working with senior and executive level management
  • Possess level of professional savvy to influence others and drive change; comfort level with constructively challenging and “pushing back”
  • Exceptional knowledge of marketing best practices and platforms
  • Clear, effective communication skills to support collaboration
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $135,000.00 to $200,000.00 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
