COMPENSATION: In accordance with Union's Collective Bargaining Agreement

ABOUT THE POSITION

• Must be or willing to become a member in good standing with Stagehands Union, Local 16, I.A.T.S.E.
• Will report to the Venue House Manager.
• The Head Carpenter is the senior position on the crew of 5 and interacts as the point of communication between ATG administration, the visiting presenter, and the crew.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

PEOPLE, PLACES, and THINGS

• The Golden Gate is a Union Fly House with a 2,300-seat capacity. A full season of programming includes Broadway touring shows, Concerts, comedy, speakers and other rentals.
• Must be able to work cooperatively and proactively with Road Heads of Department/Incoming production crews.
• Must be able to work cooperatively with all other departments and venue management.
• Must be able to manage crews and personnel in an organized manner while delivering concise estimates of incoming shows and day to day financial reports in Excel.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

• Must have prior experience working as a theatrical Head Carpenter.
• Have an in-depth understanding of Broadway (Legit) productions.
• Have an understanding of concerts and non-legit events.
• Must be able to properly advance incoming engagements with productions and Venue Operations department.
• Must have prior experience operating and maintaining a fly house.

• Ability to problem solve, remain flexible, and forecast challenges.
