District Director of Operations

Overview of Role and Key Accountabilities
Our District Directors of Operations (DDOs) play a key leadership role within our organization and contribute significantly to our success. DDOs are accountable for the daily operations of multiple locations within their assigned territory. Working with a great amount of autonomy, their responsibilities will include building a high performing team, which includes the recruiting, selection, onboarding, development, and retention efforts of all store associates within their assigned district. Additional responsibilities include driving KPIs in growth, profitability and expenses that will ensure monthly and yearly goals are achieved. You will build connections with employees and customers, instantly making a difference in someone’s life through interaction.
Essential Duties:
  • Ensure excellent service and high levels of customer satisfaction within the district
  • Maintain accountability for sales, profitability, debt management and full P&L
  • Execute against marketing strategies aligned with Region and or Company strategies
  • Execute recruiting, hiring, training, developing, performance management within the District, including approval of payroll and scheduling
  • Coach, train, develop and motivate store managers and customer service representatives
  • Establish, attain, and report on progress against store performance goals
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in operations and policies within your district
  • Interact with Regional Operations Manager (ROM) concerning store performance, sales, marketing, operations, staffing, etc.
  • Lead implementation of new products and services
  • Perform monthly visits that include a complete and thorough review of each location within the district to ensure operations objectives, legal, and compliance processes and procedures are being followed
  • Engage with corporate business partners as needed
  • Conduct monthly audits that include a complete and thorough review of each location within the district to ensure legal and company compliance
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED
  • Prior management of business operations in a multi-unit environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, reasoning, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must demonstrate ability to successfully run a store independently
  • Must have own personal reliable transportation in compliance with published policy and procedure. This may NOT include public transportation, transportation from family or friends. Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and valid Automobile Insurance while employed by the company

  • Retail/office environment
  • Extended viewing of computer screens
  • Extended typing
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Long periods of sitting or driving
Travel / Attendance:
  • Must be able to travel to all stores within the assigned district with personal vehicle
  • Must be asked to travel to other districts within the Region
  • Must be able to travel overnight
  • Up to 50% travel with overnights expected
Supervisory Functions:
  • Store manager
  • Customer service representative
