Facilities Manager

Full Time | $50,000+

JOB SUMMARY:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall management of maintenance, janitorial and food services needs for all VOA Upstate NY properties and locations in Binghamton, NY. The Facilities Manager is also responsible for all facility Binghamton locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Acting Assistant Project Manager for building maintenance projects, including identifying the scope of work, preparing requests for quotations, addressing any change orders, and providing direct site management and supervision of all sub-contractors
  • Responsible for all VOA properties and locations, including staffing, routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and emergency service requests
  • Responsible for the kitchen staff and programs, including ensuring food service meets all guidelines and food service regulations, staffing, and scheduling, ensuring appropriate ordering of food and supplies based on budget and required nutritional guidelines, and reporting
  • Completes monthly building inspections & documentation
  • Completes all required regulatory and agency reporting, such as, fire drills, cleaning logs, expense reports, invoice coding, etc.
  • Ensures the work order system is maintained and reviews tickets to identify trends and/or problem areas
  • Responsible for maintaining all agency tools and vehicles
  • Ensures safe practices and cleanliness of all programs as per regulatory requirements
  • Ensures an updated Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) binder is maintained for all programs
  • Responsible for all supplies and inventory for programs
  • Responsible for snow removal, landscaping, painting, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Provide emergency staffing coverage as needed
  • Other duties as directed by the supervisor

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five years of facilities/manager experience
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to work with Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to pass a federal background check
  • Knowledge of all cleaning chemicals and SDS regulations
  • A valid NYS drivers license required
