What We Manufacture and Sell*

Axiota's non-antibiotic solutions prepare cattle for times of transition and stress and support producers' goals of optimal health, performance, and animal well-being. MS Biotec and Axiota are the world's first and only commercial producers of Lactipro advance, a beef and dairy cattle probiotic based on a pure culture of the lactate utilizing bacteria: Megasphaera elsdenii. MS Biotec has developed a unique anaerobic fermentation and formulation expertise leading to the successful commercialization of this strict anaerobe. We are expanding our team to accelerate the development and commercialization of its innovative product pipeline and allow the company to capitalize on significant market opportunities in the growing natural animal health products market.

Role Overview*

• This position reports to the VP and Manufacturing and Strategy and leads a department of four employees.
• Create and implement a global supply chain strategy supporting the global customers and business segment material strategies and metrics.
• Balance strategic thinking with a tactical application of strategies to programs.
• Interface and manage relationships with key external supply chain nodes and contract manufacturers to achieve desired business goals.
• Collaborates with internal and external suppliers of information and services in managing the effectiveness of the overall work processes
• Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives.
• Facilitates, organizes and participates with institutional and departmental task forces to address some Supply Chain Management issues.
• Supply chain integration includes activities to establish and enhance financial performance and operational processes associated with Supply Chain Management (SCM).
• Recommends, leads, and participates in various operational, technology, and multi-disciplinary projects and work groups within Supply Chain Management and related areas.
• Implement programs to optimize inventory turnover while mitigating inventory exposure and reducing risk.
• Drive strategic procurement initiatives to maximize cost reduction.
• Measure and report on project status both internally and externally
• Maintain cost-to-performance targets
• Consults and collaborates regarding procurement, payment, policies, contracting strategies, vendor/supplier management negotiations, and account management.
• Makes purchasing decisions, analyzes purchasing data, and identifies expense management initiatives.
• Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Operations to create a common schedule based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• Develop and execute material program plans.
• Identifies and addresses resource requirements related to workflows.
• Manages their team's procurement of supplies, equipment, services, and inventory while ensuring compliance, including spend authorization thresholds.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Our production facility is in Wamego, Kansas, near Manhattan, Kansas, home to Kansas State University. We now have over one hundred employees and have expansion plans for continued profitable double-digit growth year over year.
