Position Summary

The Director, Operations is responsible for all business planning, customer interface, sub contracts, software implementation, integration and subsequent build out, operations and maintenance of the network for the assigned region, region-segment, or assigned customer territory. The position incumbent interacts with all levels of the customer organization (first level to executive level), has full responsibility for Profit & Loss and managed service program employees, project managers at-large, and all technical implementation personnel assigned to customers and customer projects in the assigned territory. Prepares and submits budgets, leads a team of program managers to optimize their operations and facilitates growth with existing customers, new customers, and is responsible for their customer satisfaction ratings.


Expected Travel: Up to 100%


Key Responsibilities

  • Directs all business and programmatic activities in maintaining cost, quality, and schedule parameters. Directs the planning, installation, maintenance, and performance of the network to ensure it is developed in accordance with the utility's schedule for economic justification of the project and the Company's fiscal plan. Drives for the development and execution of deployment schedules and conducts regular reviews and imposes scheduled maintenance and operational tests to ensure system performance, delivery, and customer satisfaction. Responsible for ensuring that the program remains on schedule, meets all performance metrics established in the contract, and stays within the allocated budget.
  • Develops topics for and conducts weekly meetings with customers, monthly meetings with corporate headquarters and special meetings as necessary. Demands an ability to de-conflict competing interests and prioritize the efforts of all participants along with necessary fiscal, physical, and personnel resources. Defines project KPIs that meet customer requirements and delivers consistent and ongoing communication to customer on status of the project/program.
  • Responsible for all personnel actions including the employment and release of personnel in the program management team. Develops necessary organization reporting for all team members, whether directly reporting to this position or ad hoc team members assigned for a particular deployment. Communicates and holds regular meetings of all team members to ensure clear accountability and engagement in the project. Develops RACI charts for each deployment so that no responsibilities or accountabilities are missed, and all stakeholders are constantly informed. Directs the training and development of all company personnel assigned to projects and customers in the assigned territory.
  • Reviews and approves the technical implementations and projects schedules for all customer deliveries. Holds deployment resources accountable for delivering on the approved plan. Communicates plan to customer, including any system integration and testing requirements to provide network design. Ensures that all network records are maintained and accessible for on-going customer maintenance.
  • Reviews and approves technical documentation and training schedules for customers. Ensure delivery of required training and ongoing support
  • Upsells and maintains ongoing, positive, and problem-solving relationship with customer.

  • Supports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
  • Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.

Education and Experience

  • Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelors Degree
  • Required Minimum Years of Experience: 7+ to 10

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in related field that could include, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Management, Finance
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
