Direct Support Professionals needed in Huntingdon area $14.00/hr Job at Community Resources for Independence
Are you interested in a fulfilling career while lending a helping hand to others? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll provide assistance to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live happy and healthy lives in their own homes and communities.
Established in 1990, CRI is a community based, non-residential, non-profit corporation that provides services to individuals with disabilities in order to maximize their independence and the accessibility of the communities in which they live.
A Direct Support Professional is a non-licensed caregiver and member of our outstanding home care team who assists the client to reach goals and outcomes in order to live independently.
The Lewistown Office is currently seeking DSPs throughout Huntingdon County.

- Days Vary
- Daytime hours available
Responsiblities:
- Assist the individuals in meeting goals and outcomes established in the Service Plan
- Accompany the client during community integration activities and socialization
- Providing companionship and stimulation for the consumer including reading, walks, etc.
- Accompanying the consumer to appointments if needed.
- Participate in team meeting when needed to provide feedback on the client’s progress
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment through light housekeeping as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a high school diploma or GED and be able to read, write, and do basic math
- Current and valid driver's license, reliable vehicle with current and valid car insurance
- Must be able to pass various background checks
- Must be able to work every other weekend, holidays as needed, and every other weekend
