The Senior Demand Planner will lead the S&OP forecasting process collaborating with Sales, Marketing and Finance to develop unconstrained forecasts that will drive operational activities to support the business. They will coordinate strategic and tactical discussions at various leadership levels between the Commercial and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use SAP Demand Planning and the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to develop a Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) level consensus demand forecasts for products and brands within the US OTC portfolio.
  • Interact regularly with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, Collaborative Planning Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR), Finance, and Supply Planning and use historical order and shipment data, current Point of Sale (POS) trends, trade inventory data, promotional activity information to develop the best possible demand plans for new and existing products.
  • Lead cross-functional Demand Tactical forecast reviews in accordance with the S&OP process standards, including following up on unresolved issues stemming from monthly cycle meetings.
  • Evaluate and implement solution and ensure alignment with Marketing & Sales in development of the consensus forecast.
  • Choose the appropriate history type and maintenance the historical data to drive an accurate statistical forecast.
  • Review forecast metrics (MAPE, BIAS), understand root cause when variability exceeds the norm, and determine best methods to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning, Manufacturing and/or External Operations on corresponding planning scenarios and strategies. Communicate and escalate concerns to management to ensure an appropriate supply chain strategy is developed.
  • Provide Operational Inputs to the Business Planning Process and participate in development of Annual Business Plans.
  • Lead and/or support supply chain / planning projects as needed (e.g. improve supply chain flexibility, demand processes, etc.).
  • Prepare related presentations for senior management as required with minimal coaching.
  • Know and follow all laws and policies to apply the job and maintain the highest level of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all time.

Qualifications


Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in any combination of the following functions is required: supply chain management, planning, logistics, procurement, manufacturing and/or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP
  • Advanced skills with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to influence and constructively challenge cross-functional project teams and business partners to achieve goals
  • Sound analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret large amounts of data
  • Strong partnering and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to communicate across varying levels
  • This candidate may be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred:

  • An advanced degree in supply chain or MBA.
  • Role in Operations (Mfg./Eng./Planning) or Procurement/Finance and/or Quality & Compliance in pharmaceutical, Consumer product, Medical Device or Cosmetics industry
  • Experience in a GMP or FDA regulated industry.
  • APICS Certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in designing and deploying improvement programs such as, Process Excellence, Six Sigma and/or Lean programs.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
