Summary:

The Caregiver/Med Tech is responsible for all duties in relation to safely providing care to residents of Hampton Manor. It requires a professional demeanor and willingness to learn day-to-day steps to ensure residents are properly cared for.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide care, comfort, safety, and general supervision to residents within both Assisted Living and Memory Care.

- When Caregiver / Med Tech is assigned to a specific med cart per Assisted Living or Memory Care, note that they are taking on responsibility of lead caregiver for their cart’s hall during that time.

- Collects clinical data and information on residents, and documents appropriately

- Maintains precise accuracy when administering medications

- Work alongside residents in their activities of daily living, administer medications (once trained), and tend to their individual physical, social and spiritual needs.

- Washing, drying, folding and returning laundry to residents.

- Has knowledge of, and can demonstrate technique, or can learn how to assist with a gait belt, sit to stand lift, transfer board, oxygen equipment, catheter, specimen, transfer pole, wheelchair, scale, and other medical equipment as directed.

- Capable of accurately taking a resident’s vital signs and weight.

- Assists residents and housekeepers in maintaining general cleanliness of resident’s apartments.

- Read and review 24-hour communication logs and respond when necessary.

- Assist with informing residents of activities occurring throughout the day, to motivate involvement within the community.

- Efficiently notifies management when an incident or error occurs during a shift.

- Answers call lights from residents within a timely fashion.

- Various housekeeping duties including but not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, polishing, wiping/disinfecting handrails, chairs, and tables, cleaning bathrooms, restocking toilet paper, paper towels, etc.

- Assist during meal times including, but not limited to, dining room set up, meal and beverage orders, serving meals, cleaning tables, and other reasonable requests.

- Review any new interim service plans that could be initiated.

- Maintains responsibility for: keys, walkies, and phones while on duty and signs them in and out.

- Able to show appropriate phone etiquette when answering phone lines.

- Accurately maintains incident reports.

- Attend scheduled and mandatory employee meetings.

- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or other management staff within reasonable request.

General Requirements:

- Must be able to easily lift and carry 50 pounds.

- Must be at least 18 years of age.

- High School Diploma or GED required.

- Able to abide by the mandating policy

- Reliable transportation

- Work every other weekend as scheduled.

- A positive attitude and the ability to arrive on time for every shift.
