I&C Engineer (BMS Engineer)

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to electrical engineering design.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate I&C engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects.
  • Perform a broad range of I&C design activities, including design definition, control systems architecture and development, digital systems, PLC, DCS, network configuration, logic development, network switches, process controls, P&ID development support and review, HMI, communication protocols, routing and layout, SIL, and procurement activities.
  • Properly interpret and apply National, State, and Local codes and standards, and customer design requirements for the preparation of electrical design/construction documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to assigned tasks.
  • Prepare engineering cost and schedules estimates.
  • Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical (Power) Engineering or similar accredited engineering B.S. with a minimum of 5 years’ experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.

Senior I&C Engineer (BMS Engineer)

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to electrical engineering design.

  • Perform a broad range of I&C design activities, including design definition, control systems architecture and development, digital systems, PLC, DCS, network configuration, logic development, network switches, process controls, P&ID development support and review, HMI, communication protocols, routing and layout, SIL, and procurement activities
  • Interpret and apply National, State, and Local codes and standards, and customer design requirements for the preparation of electrical design/construction documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to assigned tasks through project startup.
  • Prepare engineering cost and schedule estimates.
  • Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required.

Education and Experience:

Professional Engineer License preferred but not required.

Principal I&C Engineer (BMS Engineer)

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to electrical engineering design.

Professional Engineer License preferred but not required.

Work Location:

• Remote work requests will be evaluated. Onsite is preferred.

Additional feedback from the manager –

Provide technical direction, guidance and demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of the BMS Control System Design. • Provide progress reports and updates on BMS Control System Team progress. • Coordinate with other disciplines including Electrical and HVAC to develop design. • Develop detail hardware and infrastructure design documents and drawings including control cabinets, I/O drawings, wiring design, installation drawings, network drawings, and cable schedules required for the BMS Control System design. • Develop I/O list from P&IDs and other input documents • Develop Logic Diagrams • Check BMS Control Systems detail designs developed by others including BMS Control System supplier. • Develop BMS Control System requisition for contract support by BMS vendor during detail design.

Below are the necessary criteria for hire:

  • Experience with NEC, ISA, and IEEE codes and standards.
  • BMS Hardware and infrastructure experience including Network design.
  • Software design knowledge not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.02 - $84.29 per hour
