SafeAI is seeking a site-focused Autonomy Technician to provide a high level of customer-facing support for our autonomy system, and be committed to continuously improving the capabilities of autonomous haul trucks and other technologies on operating mine sites.

You should have a technology-based background, perhaps in networking or technology, with a keen interest in working in the autonomy domain and a comfort with getting your hands dirty in the mechanical aspects of our system.

Responsibilities
  • Create, follow and participate in the Job Safety Analysis process
  • Troubleshooting and debugging of autonomy software and the networks installed to vehicles and machinery in the field
  • In-field calibration of on-board sensors and components such as GPS, cameras, LiDAR, radar and communications systems such as LTE
  • First point of contact for advice on operational technology
  • First point of contact for technology software installation, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Configuration of key system parameters based on the attributes of physical machinery
  • Ability to understand and learn the on-site network configuration
  • Ability to understand and learn the autonomy software environment
  • Ability to operate Mobile Mining Equipment in testing environments – “Safety Driver”
  • Reporting and updating product tracking systems adhering to agile product management and development techniques
  • Creating and participating in autonomous test procedures
  • Dispatching for autonomous operations
  • Follow instructions safely, closely and accurately
Qualifications
  • Qualifications/Trade Certificate “but not limited too” – IT, Networking, Programming
  • Familiarity with Linux administration and/or networking is particularly desirable
  • Familiarity with IT hardware installations and wiring skills is desirable
  • Knowledge of mining is desirable
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated understanding of deployment or network diagrams
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to build strong internal and customer relationships
  • Strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills
  • Highly safety-focused at all times and to take a personal responsibility for the safety of others
  • Ability to operate Mobile Mining Equipment in testing environments
  • Any knowledge of GPS, RTK, camera, LiDAR, radar
  • Any knowledge of communication networks - LTE and mesh networks
  • Any knowledge of CAN networks and fault finding
