Due to recent growth of our team, we are looking to fill the position of Accounts Payable Specialist in our Cherry Hill, NJ location.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, this position will perform accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Assemble, review and verify invoices and check requests
• Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
• Sort, code and match invoices
• Get approval for invoices from Buyers
• Set invoices up for payment
• Enter and upload invoices into system
• Track expenses and process expense reports
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
• Prepare and perform check runs
• Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions
• Prepare analysis of accounts
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Maintain vendor files
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Assist with month end closing
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Any additional tasks within scope and ability as requested by management

JOB REQUIRMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable and General Accounting Procedures
• Proficient in data entry and data management
• Expereience with an ERP system
• Strong organization and prioritization skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy and confidentiality
• Strong communication skills, judgement and problem analysis and solving skills
• Must exhibit professional integrity and be a team player
• Ability to clearly speak, read, and write in English
• Excellent computer skills; proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook
• NetSuite experience preferred
• Food and beverage industry experience preferred
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines (including in a hybrid environment)
• Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International, USA
