Description:

This position is primarily responsible for serving as a coach, who is committed to supporting and guiding youth hired through SYEP Program with the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services. Provides administrative support services to SGA partnered worksites working with youth ages 16-24 years old for 12-weeks.

  • Must be able to make a 12-week commitment, at least 20-25 hours per week.
  • Provides administrative support services to SGA partnered worksites working with youth ages 16-24 years old for 12-weeks
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with partner site leads.
  • Communicate effectively and administer the program policies and procedures to youth.
  • Track and follow up with site lead and youth on the completion mandatory forms
  • Track, manage and ensure the accuracy of youth timesheets for payroll approval
  • Enter all youth’s attendance/timesheet into CitySpan system
  • Track and follow up with youth and site lead for the completion of the online financial literacy curriculum.
  • Ensure MHA Lab surveys are implemented and completed by the youth & employers.
  • Help prepare and deliver supplies and materials to youth, if needed.
  • Attends mandatory trainings implemented by SGA or funder.
  • Responsible for following up with youth that have inconsistent attendance. Implements other services requested by SGA or funder.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Degree Required
  • Associates in Human Services, Education, Psychology, Social Work or a related field in a plus

Experience:

  • Experience working with youth of diverse backgrounds required.
  • One to three years of related experiences or a combination of training, education, and experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of youth development is a plus

Other:

  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required. Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families, various professionals and community groups.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude working in a high intensity environment.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of service providers, community events, or the organization.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in executing tasks.
  • Must demonstrate ability to handle emergency and crisis situations.
  • Must be able to take initiative.
  • Must have access to a computer.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Competent in Microsoft Office tools and inputting services in an online database.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work on a computer screen for a long period of time
  • Must be able to deliver supplies to youth, if needed.
