The Opportunity
  • Under the direction of the Traffic Manager, moves trailers to support the Inbound and Outbound operations in the yard following the established daily schedule. Support the QVC Difference in the performance of all job responsibilities.

Your Impact
  • Jockeys trailers to support the Inbound and Outbound operations. Jockeys trailers to the warehouse doors and in the yard following the established daily schedule.
  • Review and manage scheduled trailer close times for hours scheduled to load. Inputs trailer information into Scan-Data/TMS for the manifest to assign trailers to hubs and dock doors.
  • Record in TMS the load start time and load end time when trailers are ready to be pulled from the door.
  • Maintain the yard. Respond to priority needs as notified.
  • Downloads manifest information from the PC and audits truckloads.
  • Use Scan-Data for opening and closing truck manifest, monitoring loading trucks and manual processing through load audit procedures.
  • Coordinate repairs and fueling with outside vendors.
  • Perform other traffic functions. i.e., handles drivers, dispatches and schedules trailers, completes paperwork, etc.
  • Resolve complex issues. Identify trends and resolves problems.
  • Follow all company safety and security procedures.
  • Maintain attendance according to company policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
This job does require you to work onsite at our Suffolk, VA location.
Work Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday.
(4:30PM - 3:00AM)
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
  • 3 or more Years experience in the same or similar position.
  • Must be familiar with database programs, access and excel, and computer operations. (YMS,TMS, i2/JDA. WMS, Scan Data) CFR 49 Knowledge of QVC shipping regulations is required.
  • A minimum of (3) years of transportation related experience is required of which a broad knowledge of a high volume fulfillment operation has been attained through routing and logistics
  • Must have CDL A Driver License
  • Must have clean driving record

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • You will perform mathematical calculations

  • You will make decisions within a framework.
  • You will need to comprehend and apply technical, abstract and complex information.
  • You will need to operate general office equipment (fax, photocopier, computer printer) stationed between 3 and 4 feet high.

  • You will need to work in outside environmental conditions
  • You will need to have the ability to multitask
  • You will work in team environment
  • Display good organizational skills and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • You will need to provide good customer service are required to partner with all levels of management and partners
  • You will need to have the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • You will need to be handle difficult situations in a high volume and high stress situation
