  • Occasional evening, holiday, or weekend work required: Depending on programs offered, may need to work later in the evening.
  • Occasional travel required: Local travel to support student events and trips off-campus.

REMOTE WORK ELIGILITY: Yes, occasionally (i.e., snow day university campus is closed).
HOURS/WEEK and MONTHS/YEAR: 35 hours/week and 48 weeks/year

  • 4 weeks off (2 weeks in January & 2 weeks in June)

ANNUAL SALARY: Molloy utilizes a salary calculation tool that is designed to treat all University employees fairly and maintain internal equity with-in our compensation structure. Salary for individual incumbents are determined by skills and knowledge, position relevant experience, and equity within the University.

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Wellness Specialist will work under the direction of the Director of Health Services and will work to develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive health promotion program for the Molloy community. They will contribute to the team in developing evidence-informed strategies for enhancing student health and well-being and provide programming opportunities to promote wellness at Molloy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, implements and evaluates theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion strategies, policies, programs and services. Collaborates with stakeholders on and off campus to contribute to a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to health for students. Will work closely with Student Personal Counseling Center, Student Involvement, Residence Life, Athletics, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, and Human Resources. Will practice cultural humility and incorporate social justice concepts and principles into health promotion processes.
  • Planning and Promotion – will coordinate all components of flu clinics, vaccine clinics, blood drives and other related programs at Molloy. Will play a role in New Student Orientation, RA Training, Move-in Weekend, and other large-scale student events. Will serve as primary coordinator for the implementation of a tobacco-free campus. Will manage Campus Well, and all social media outreach on behalf of Health Services.
  • Will provide administrative support to Health Services staff in utilizing Pyramed, evaluating immunization records, and providing office coverage for the department in creating a welcoming environment for students and visitors. Will serve on campus-wide committees as needed.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree (Public Health, Health Promotion, Health education, or Related Field)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Databases
  • 1-3 years of work related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree (Public Health, Health Promotion, Health education, or Related Field)
  • Experience working in Higher Education
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified in Public Health (CPH)
  • Web Development
  • Statistical Software
  • Jenzabar Software

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in working with students and organizations.
  • Proficient in handling multiple projects simultaneously, managing time efficiently, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willingness and desire to serve students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail.
