Navistar is currently hiring an
Engineer Senior - Physical Validation.
This position is within the Applied Mechanics Lab.
The candidate will design, set up, and execute physical testing and generate the corresponding engineering reports. The candidate will align with the Design and Analysis teams to ensure the tests support the overall validation plan.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
- Test Assembly - sockets & rachet, screwdrivers, impact tools, drills, etc.
- Fabrication - Cutting / Drilling / Welding
- Fixture Design - NX / AutoCAD / material selection
- Fixture Construction (unistrut, angle plates, etc.)
- Electronics - building / designing controller boxes
- Electronics - soldering / wiring / connecting / powering sensors
- Programming - Arduino, Excel, VBA, nCode, LabView, MTS
- Pneumatics - fitting install, air lines install, valves, needle valves, solenoids
- Instrumentation - Accelerometers/load cells/LVDTs/Strain gages
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 2 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
