Utility Foreman

POSITION SCOPE:

The Utility Foreman will have the responsibility for the onsite supervision and production of their team and the responsibility to complete projects on-time and on-budget while meeting the high-quality standards held by PLS. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently while having the authority to use their problem-solving skills to successfully manage a variety of fast paced underground piping and utility projects while maintaining open communication with the other divisions of PLS.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead by example that safety is the number one priority.
• Ability to understand and manage the complete construction cycle.
• Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety, quality, and specifications are met.
• Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements and procedure planning.
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule activities with other crews and contractors on a project.
• Manage personnel, productivity, training, and the ongoing development of crew members.
• Maintain good customer relations by acting in a professional and courteous manner
• Have practical working knowledge and experience with various excavators and underground equipment.
• Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe and equipment to specifications and applicable code.
• Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
• Estimate material, order materials or supplies to complete jobs
• Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports
• Other duties as assigned.
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years working with underground pipe including experience operating Heavy Equipment.
• 2-3 years of experience in managing and leading a team.
• Valid Colorado Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement (or willing to obtain one) and experience hauling equipment.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, MVR screen and drug screen
• General technology skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Colorado Journeyman Plumbing License.

• OSHA 30 Certification
• CPR/First Aid
• Trench Shoring Certification
• Heavy Equipment Certification (Preferred)
• Butt- Fusion Certification (Preferred)
• Electrofusion Certification (Preferred)
• CSU Utility Installer License (Preferred)
• Welding Certification (Preferred)
• NCCCO Service Truck Certification (Preferred)

• Work outside in varying weather conditions

COMPENSATION: Up to $41.23 per hour DOE - This position is hired through the Local 58 Union
