Job Summary:

The Group 1001 Treasury Department is accountable for the strategy and execution of funding structures for Group 1001 holding companies and its affiliates. In addition, Group 1001 Treasury is the primary point of contact for bank relationships for the company, and Treasury oversees the management of the capital allocation process across the various annuity products. This position will assist the Treasurer in support of this mission.

Main Accountabilities:

Funding Structures

  • Track and monitor group-wide borrowing and financing structures.
  • Use project management skills to support the deal team in executing borrowing structures.
  • Partner with internal business units to forecast needs, optimize borrowings, reduce costs, and manage bank relationships.
  • Monitor collateral reporting to ensure optimal use of collateral.

Bank Relationships

  • Maintain reporting to track relative revenue paid to banks.
  • Produce recurring internal communications on recent Group 1001 bank activity.
  • Track bank strategic announcements, mergers and acquisitions, and significant events.

Capital Allocation

  • Support top-level risk committee and subcommittees with ad hoc analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop easy-to-understand executive-level presentations to communicate concepts and ideas supporting capital allocation initiatives.
  • Create financial models to compare and create buy-in for new ideas for capital deployment.
  • Monitor institutional markets and pricing to capture profitable liability execution.
  • Follow competitors, and monitor industry trends, regulatory topics, and rating agency issues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing projects within a larger organization and across different disciplines (such as investments, finance, tax, and legal)
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, form insightful conclusions, and communicate results through charts or written text.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; self-directed with the ability to work collaboratively or individually.
  • An independent strategic thinker capable of understanding the full scope of projects while seeing individual tasks through to completion.
  • Strong expertise in Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with Bloomberg a plus, able to build financial models a plus.
  • 3+ years’ experience in the financial services industry, and insurance background is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, math, or a related field is preferred.
