POSITION: TRANSPORTATION DRIVER
LOCATION: SOUTH SUBURBAN AND SURROUNDING AREAS
VARIOUS OPENINGS: (FULL-TIME & PART-TIME) AVAILABLE
DAYS - MONDAY- FRIDAY - NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS
HOURS - MORNING / AFTERNOON ROUTES
SALARY: $16.00 PER HOUR
QUALIFICATIONS:
Over 21 years of age or older with 3 years of driving experience.
Valid driver's license.
Current and clear driving record
Experience with individual with developmental disabilities helpful.
First Aid CPR Certification within 90 days of employment.
Certification as a PACE authorized driver within 90 days
Candidates must be COVID vaccinated
RESPONSIBILITIES: Pick up participants from their residences and/or job sites and drive them to their job location and/or individual residences within a certain time span. Drive clients, as scheduled, for community outings or other appointments as needed. and assist with business errands and deliveries as requested by business office or development.
REPORTS TO: TRANSPORTATION MANAGER
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive a planned daily route and submit all paperwork (checklists & inspection forms) to the Transportation Manager/ Assistant daily.
  • Check personal mailbox provided by supervisor for written updates, instructions and notices. Respond accordingly to all written communications immediately. Collect and/or delivery any mail as per instructions.
  • Utilize proper procedures and safe driving techniques ensure safe drop-off and pick- up of clients as needed.
  • Assist all riders on and off ALL vehicles by standing by van door as they enter & exit the vehicle.
  • Ensure that all riders are wearing seat belts and all wheelchairs are secure in the vehicle before proceeding to drive.
  • Inform the Transportation Manager of any maintenance needs, damage, or incidents involving the vehicle immediately.
  • Notify the Transportation Manager of inability to drive immediately so that alternate arrangement can be made.
  • Provide written reports of any behavioral incidents, accidents, and/or injuries occurring while clients are in transport.
  • Be available to drive for community access outings and other duties as assigned.
  • Attend transportation department staff meetings as scheduled by Transportation Manager.
  • Must report any moving violations, tickets, DUI, etc. to the Transportation Manager immediately.
  • Maintain bi-annual CPR/First aid certification and attend in-service training as identified by DHS standards, agency and department policy and any other training deemed necessary by the Agency.
  • Maintain a valid Illinois Driver License.
  • Conduct on vehicles driven, assigned to do so by supervisor.
  • Make business deposit, deliveries, and complete errands, as assigned by supervisory staff.
  • Staff will perform duties with regards to Park Lawn Health and Safety Policies, Procedures and Rules by following, but not limited to, proper lifting techniques, use of good body mechanics, behavior management, infection control, proper attire and general awareness of immediate surroundings.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
