Job Summary (30-40 Hours a week, 10 month): To manage and run the box office for Bethel University as well as serve as company manager for the theatre department.

Essential Job Functions & Qualifications:

  • For Box Office:
    • Employee will make all deposits and prepare daily, weekly, monthly sales reports of ticket sales and credit card sales, train and oversee all student workers that work in the box office, order box office supplies, update ticket computer for new events, create email blasts, update patrons on ticket sales and maintain and update database for mailings, work weekends and evenings for large concerts or shows.
  • For Theatre Department:
    • Attend weekly staff meeting. Handle and maintain spreadsheets for all purchase orders, deposits, expenses and receipts for shows. Coordinate all arrangements for KCACTF, The Stratford Experience, The Earl Awards, and the Genesians. Fall and spring plays: handle publicity for on-campus auditions. Assist in yearly calendar creation and room approval, script acquisition and distribution, and program advertising.
  • For Both:
    • Answer general inquires via email and phone. Assist in organizing files and forms. Observe housekeeping, maintenance, and IT needs and place work orders accordingly. Encourage personal and spiritual growing in team and with students. Perform other duties as assigned from department chair.


Performance Measurements:

  • To schedule and organize work to meet established deadlines either alone or in a team.
  • To ensure that all correspondence and deposits are free of errors.
  • To maintain a friendly, professional work environment and attitude when working with others.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program or related experience.
  • Work normally involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discretion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (visitors or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, One Drive) is essential.
  • May be asked to do occasional lifting up to 25lbs.
