Description of Work Unit
It is the mission of the Colorado State University Diagnostic Laboratory system to provide timely, accurate and pertinent animal disease diagnostic services and educational outreach to veterinarians, animal industries and animal interests. The Diagnostic Lab will strive to meet the goal of the College of Veterinary Medical and Biomedical Sciences and the University through research to develop new approaches to disease identification, investigation, prevention and through education of professional veterinary medical, graduate and post doctoral students.

Position Summary
This position will assist in the preparation of various laboratory tests, and prepare and test water/feed samples for chemical analysis under the supervision of a laboratory technician.
This position will keep daily temperature logs of the various instruments throughout the laboratory.
This position will perform janitorial duties, as needed.
On occasion this position may assist in organizing and entering data concerning laboratory samples and accessions.
This position may assist in opening the mail and supplies when needed.
This position may assist in the necropsy of animal carcasses and cleaning and disinfection of the necropsy unit and equipment along with routine cleaning and sterilization of laboratory equipment on a daily basis.

The applicant should be responsible, ethical, and able to work in a team environment. This position will be a temporary, part-time position, with workdays Monday through Friday.

Position Minimum Qualifications
One-year experience with customer service, general clerical/administrative duties, and maintenance of a clean, organized workspace.

Preferred Qualifications
At least one year with clinical or laboratory experience in veterinary, medical, or biological field OR certification in Veterinary Technology.
