ROLE: TECHNICIAN I/II
REPORTS TO: Lead Scientist (Scientist I or Scientist II)
Job Overview
The Technician I/II executes Research & Development activities which is vital to the success of the company. This position utilizes wet lab skills for executing qPCR and NGS experiments. Experience with analyzing NGS data using terminal/open-source tools and/or writing scripts in at least one language (python, R, Perl, Matlab etc.) is preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties
- NGS library preparation and sequencing
- PCR and qPCR
- DNA and/or RNA extraction and purification
- Data analysis
- Manufacturing customized products following SOPs
- Writing first draft SOPs
- Customer support
Qualifications
- BA/BS or higher in Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
- Experience with PCR and qPCR (Required)
- 0 – 3 years NGS experience (preferred)
- Experience with NGS data analysis pipelines (preferred)
- ASCP certification (preferred)
- Highly organized and motivated person, with the enthusiasm necessary to learn and grow with the company
