As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, engineers, you will provide technical writing support to the Tooling Engineering Support Organization. The Technical Writer will be responsible for the development of all Manuals, Procedures, Specifications, and any other technical documentation required. The Technical Writer will be responsible to manage all revisioning of the approved documentation.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical writing expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Qualifications:
  • Writes and edits technical documents including manuals, procedures, standards, TUI.
  • Determines the type of documentation that will best serve the project requirements.
  • Meets with engineers, technicians, and managers to learn about specific tooling or processes.
  • Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.
  • Gathers feedback from engineers, technicians, and managers to improve technical documents.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for success
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand requirements
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedures, manuals, TUI, and process documentation
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
Desired:
  • Experience with Aerospace, industrial, or manufacturing technical writing
  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Experience writing and editing a multitude of technical documentation types
  • Basic understanding of Windchill
