Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Technical/Procedure Writer (CAT/OAT and Operations/Maintenance) opportunities to support Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) in Richland, WA

SCOPE OF WORK

These positions will provide procedure support to Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS). Working with HMIS Test Coordinators, the Technical/Procedure Writer will prepare/modify CATS and OATS, operating, maintenance, and preventive maintenance procedures for numerous projects at Hanford.

Overall procedure writing assignments, based on current schedules and assumptions should complete by end of FY 2025. Draft procedures for the projects at the direction of the Test Director using HMIS-approved templates.

  • Shall have the knowledge and capability to develop and draft procedures with limited input from the Test Director, Design Authority, and Operations personnel.
  • Shall be located in 200 East at a location to be determined. Office space and computers shall be provided by HMIS.
  • It is anticipated two writers will be needed for the CAT and OAT procedures, and three procedure writers to develop the operation, maintenance and preventive maintenance procedures estimated above.

Required Qualifications

Support to Project Delivery

Two procedure writers are anticipated to write CAT and OAT procedures. Three procedures are anticipated to write operation, maintenance and preventive maintenance procedures, including two with mechanical background and one with electrical background.

CAT and OAT Procedure Writers

  • Prior experience developing and preparing CAT and OAT procedures in a government regulated environment.
  • Ability to write test procedures based on system design.
  • Ability to read system drawings to determine system lineup and test configuration.
  • Ability to translate design requirements into associated test acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to sequence test activities to optimize test field performance.
  • Ability to interface with other organizations to resolve/disposition concerns/comments.
  • Current Procedure Professional Association (PPA) procedure writer certification or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire.
Operation, Maintenance, and Preventive Maintenance Procedure Writers
  • Prior experience developing and preparing operation, maintenance and preventive maintenance procedures for new projects for turnover.
  • Ability to write operation, maintenance, and preventive maintenance procedures based on system design.
  • Ability to read system drawings to determine system lineup and configuration.
  • Ability to interface with other organizations to resolve/disposition concerns/comments.
  • Two writers shall have mechanical background and experience, and one electrical background and experience.
  • Current Procedure Professional Association (PPA) procedure writer certification or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire.

Site Access and Work Hours

Hanford personnel at the Hanford Site work a standard 4/10 schedule. The standard work week consist of ten (10) hours of work between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with one-half hour designated as an unpaid period for lunch, Monday through Thursday. Work performed outside normal operating hours shall be coordinated and/or approved through the BTR and/or the contract Specialist prior to performing the work.
