Teaching Assistants for Cohocton – : Pro Action’s Head Start Program is accepting applications for Teaching Assistant position in our Cohoctonlocation.
Teaching Assistant work full time (37.5 hours per week), 10 months per year (school year calendar) and are eligible for benefits that include generous paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays, health insurance and a retirement plan with employer contributions.

The Teaching Assistant partners with the Certified Teacher and other classroom staff in the planning and implementation of daily activities in the preschool classroom, while adhering to Head Start Performance standards, New York State Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations and all other applicable program regulations. Will be responsible for recording observations of children’s development and supporting child health screenings.
Working in a team environment, the Teaching Assistant will participate in weekly planning sessions, attend training and meetings as required, ensure a safe and healthy classroom environment, work to establish positive relationships with families, assist in classroom and program modifications and help with inventory as needed.
The Teaching Assistant position requires an Associate Degree or child Development Associate (CDA) or current enrollment in a program leading to a CDA or Associates Degree and experience in a preschool program setting. A valid driver’s license meeting agency standards is also required.
