Job Summary and Qualifications

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable surgical technician-OR to provide clinical support to patients of all populations. Our team is amazing, we consider ourselves a family who work hard to support each other and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. • You will assist circulating nurse in setting up room ensuring presence and proper functioning of all necessary equipment and instruments.
• You will participate in sponge, needle and instrument counts, readies sutures and passes all instruments, equipment, sponges, medications, etc. to surgeons and assistants as needed and/or requested.
• You will pass specimen from surgeon to circulating nurse. Responsible for specimen while on field.
• You will perform related duties including but not limited to: assist in cleaning and stocking; picking cases for next day; housekeeping duties; and attending staff meetings. Directly involved in room turnover between cases.
• You will work as a collaborative member of the OR team. Demonstrates ability to adjust to different situations at any given time. Anticipate needs of surgical team on field. Takes direction from circulating nurse.

Requirements:

• Certification:

Completion of Surgical Technician Course or equivalent required.

Surgical Technician certification preferred.

BLS through American Heart Association required upon hire.

• Experience:

Two years OR scrubbing experience preferred.
