Founded in 1805, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is America's first school and museum of fine arts. Located in center city Philadelphia, PAFA is intimate in scale with a strong sense of community. PAFA’s undergraduate degree offerings include a BFA in Studio Art and a coordinated BFA with the University of Pennsylvania. Graduate programs include an MFA and Low-Residency MFA degree, and a Post-Baccalaureate certificate. PAFA’s museum has an outstanding collection of American art, and the museum actively collects and exhibits contemporary art, including work in new media. Additionally, PAFA is home to the Brodsky Center, a print and papermaking center focused on the creation of innovative editions by contemporary artists.

POSITION: Summer Art Camp Instructor

PAFA’s Art Camp offers enriching, creative experiences for campers in PAFA's historical galleries and studios. Week-long fun and imaginative sessions give students a chance to learn new skills, create artwork and make new friends. Sessions are designed to appeal to all levels and interests of young artists, ages 5-14 years.

PAFA is seeking individuals to serve as Camp Instructors for our Summer Art Camp. This program is seven weeks long and runs from June 26 - August 11, 2023. Camp Instructors are responsible for creating art projects and curriculum around the predetermined camp focuses, and for ensuring that campers have a successful camp experience. Instructors are responsible for setup and break down of their weekly camps and for assistance during camp dismissal times.

Camp salary for a full week, Monday – Friday from 8am-4pm, is $750, and is subject to deductions for taxes and other withholdings as required by law or the policies of PAFA. Instructors are responsible for setup and break down of their weekly camps.
