Tinycare was founded with a mission to reinvent childcare. We run a village of urban micro-centers combining the intimacy and small ratios of a home based care environment (e.g. nanny, home daycare) with the support and consistency of a center-based model. This hybrid model promotes nurturing children, supporting families, and valuing educators. We are Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf inspired, believe in whole child development and creating intentional, beautiful and natural environments for children. We believe in supporting educators by providing subsidized housing to the Head Teacher, professional development and potential career pathways, operational support, and low child : teacher ratios - with a total of no more than 4-6 children in our classrooms, which is led by two teachers.

The Role
As a substitute teacher you will be working part time as needed to help support our Tinycare locations. Schedules vary from week to week, if you are looking to step your toes into Early Childhood, this is perfect for you! You will be assisting the other teacher on day to day routines as listed below.

**This role has the potential to move to a full-time role as an assistant teacher!
Responsibilites:

• Instruct infants, toddlers or preschoolers in activities designed to promote holistic, intellectual, social-emotional, physical and creative growth
• Create a fun and safe learning environment
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, coworkers and families
• Communicate with families in person and through brightwheel app about childrens’ milestones, daily activities, incidents, etc.
• Maintain the health, safety and well-being of all children
• Assist with cleaning the classroom and preparing food for children
• Assist with nap time routines, snack time and diapering

Requirements:

• At least 3 months experience working with either infants, toddlers or preschoolers
• Some background and knowledge of early childhood education
• Passionate about providing safe, joyful, enriching spaces for children
• ECE units is a plus but not mandatory
• Ability to adapt to change and manage stressful situations
• Ability to build rapport with teammates, children, and families
• Positive and patient demeanor with a willingness to learn, improve and receive feedback
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility

This is a part time role, schedules depends week by week and is $20/hr.
