Exceptional Student Services Resource Teacher (Full-Time)

Monument Academy, a distinguished Charter School with campuses in beautiful Monument and Black Forest, Colorado, is seeking candidates for a full time Exceptional Student Services Teacher.

It is an exciting time to join Monument Academy as we are experiencing growth at our Elementary campus, along with expanding our new Secondary Campus in Black Forest (6th through 11th next year, expanding to include 12th grade for 23-24).

Applicants must meet qualifications for Exceptional Student Services (Special Education) and have a Colorado teacher license with a Special Education endorsement and must be supportive of an inclusion philosophy.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree along with a Colorado teacher license with a Special Education endorsement
• Organized, patient and understanding of individual special needs
• Creative and apply different types of teaching methods to reach students who are having difficulty learning
• Excellent communication and cooperation skills with others, including students, parents, and school faculty and administrators

Responsibilities:

• Exceptional Student Services resource teachers help to develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student receiving special education.
• The Teacher will review the IEP with the student's parents, school administrators, and the student's general education teachers.
• The Teacher will work closely with parents to inform them of their student's progress and suggest techniques to promote learning outside of school.
• The Teacher will ensure that appropriate accommodations are provided when necessary during testing or other activities.

Anticipated Salary and Benefits:
$33,000 - $53,000 depending on education, experience, and alignment with MA mission and instructional philosophy.
Full-time employees of Monument Academy, employed at least thirty hours per week, are eligible for health insurance plans that include medical, dental, vision, and a life insurance. All employees are eligible for participation in the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Account, PERA.
