Family-owned and operated, we specialize in planning and executing rigging and lifting projects that other companies would call infeasible or impossible. Our corporate office is in Baton Rouge, LA with other offices located in Lake Charles, LA, Beaumont, TX, Houston, TX, and Ashland, KY.
Deep South Crane & Rigging, LLC is accepting applications to fill a Structural Fitter/FCAW position for the Baton Rouge, LA location. This position is for the Baton Rouge shop. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Duties include layout, fitting, and some welding of round structural tubing and structural plate used in the manufacturing of crane boom and related parts
- Working from and climbing scaffolding involved, if needed
- Some grinding of weldments
- This position is mostly fitting with some welding involved
- Safety minded
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Position will require membership in Ironworkers Local 623 Union
- Ideal candidates must have a minimum of 5 years in pipefitting or structural fitting experience, be able to read drawings; detail-oriented
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and background check
- The preferred ability to pass a 2G, 3g plate test on 1” thick A514 steel with 1/16” gas shielded flux core
- Proficient with a cutting torch
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic
- Be able to work with others
- Good communication skills
