Job Description


As Strategic Talent Sourcer for Techo-Bloc, your role will be similar to an in-house head hunter or senior recruiter, building key external talent pipelines, creative sourcing for complex searches and sharing best practices with the recruitment team. You will thrive at Techo-Bloc by developing and executing sourcing strategies, which generate qualified passive candidates in the manufacturing industry. Your expertise will enhance our ability to hire the best and strengthen Techo-Bloc’s leadership and skilled trades team. The role will report into the Chief Strategy Officer with a strong partnership with HR and leadership teams. This is an opportunity to work at the most senior levels in the organization, to engage, inspire, persuade and influence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit passive candidates and gauge chemistry of candidates for fit (with Techo-Bloc’s culture) and motivation rather than simply sell a role.
  • Develop a sourcing strategy to build a rich external talent pipeline linked to key roles/critical skills. Ensure successful conversion of talent pipeline into active candidates and hires.
  • Build a network of potential candidates through pro-active market intelligence, industry research and talent communities.
  • Develop technical talent pipeline with focus on Manufacturing Operations
  • Work on 5-7 positions at any given time.
  • Utilise tools including LInkedin, Social Media, job fairs, conferences, tech schools, cold calls, tech lists. Internet and web tool sourcing utilizing advance filtering and Boolean search strings
  • Mentor and coach other Recruiters (through training sessions and one on one) to extend current passive sourcing capability.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and internal HR partners to understand key roles, critical skills and the current population in order to assess (1-3 year horizon) talent requirements
  • Visit each of the 4 manufacturing sites (and growing) in the USA to better understand the culture, team, operations and key success factors
  • Job shadowing (onsite) for first month to get to know the roles and culture.

Day in the life

Monday morning starts off with a tour of our Pennsylvania site with the plant manager. Spend 30 minutes job shadowing our maintenance supervisor to get a feel for the job. Go for lunch with HR manager at the local bistro and ask a million questions about company culture . Afternoon includes learning about the competitor landscape and researching the local job market. Wednesday back at home to work on a sourcing strategy for a production manager role in the Midwest. Friday includes in person interviews with hiring manager and ends with digging into Smart Recruiter to evaluate previous candidates and lay of the land.


Qualifications
  • 5+ years in recruiting and 2+ years in sourcing
  • Deep experience in passive candidate searches with a track record of successfully hiring senior leaders
  • Demonstrated creativity in delivering against strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Social media guru
  • Resourceful, saavy and competitive nature
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidence and credibility when dealing with senior clients and candidates
  • Proven experience and ability to build a talent network for sectors including manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, quality assurance.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial, hands-on environments.
  • Proactive with the ability to identify issues, navigate complex scenarios
  • Excellent business acumen with outstanding communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (with overnight) to visit manufacturing sites. Initially stay one week at each site to get to know the team.
  • Experience of pipeline development using a TAS
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction. Must be a self-motivated self-starter.
