Strategic Initiatives Analyst Job Description

ApolloMed (NASDAQ: AMEH) is a physician-centric, technology-powered healthcare management company. We are building and operating a novel, integrated, value-based healthcare delivery platform to empower our physicians to provide the highest quality of end-to-end care for their patients in a cost-effective manner. Our mission is to combine our clinical experience, best-in-class delivery network, and technological expertise in order to improve patient outcomes, increase access to healthcare, and make the US healthcare system more efficient.

Our platform currently empowers over 10,000 physicians to provide care for over 1.2 million patients nationwide. Our rapid growth and unique position at the intersection of all major healthcare stakeholders (payer, provider, and patient) gives us an unparalleled opportunity to combine clinical and technological expertise in order to improve patient outcomes, increase access to quality healthcare, and reduce the waste in the US healthcare system.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Strategic Initiatives Analyst. This role will report to a Strategic Initiatives Associate and enable us to continue to scale in the healthcare industry.

You are:

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and biased towards action. You can identify the 20% of the work that leads to 80% of the result and mobilize and execute the high-impact work consistently. You enjoy thinking about complex and ambiguous problems and can execute consistently and add compounding value.
  • Relentlessly resourceful. You enjoy taking ownership and can get things done without excuses. You are resilient, detail-oriented, and truly believe that no task is beneath you
  • Growth-oriented. You are able to evaluate all perspectives, even if uncomfortable, and have the courage to adjust your views if necessary. You have the expertise and communication skills to balance a growth mindset with a bias towards action.
  • Mission-driven. You are excited by the prospect of diving into complex problems that will drastically improve patient outcomes while lowering the cost of a tremendously inefficient US healthcare system, where waste is over 40% and per-capita healthcare dollars spent are double that of other developed nations.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Executive Team’s strategic initiatives across growth, operations, and new ventures
  • Partner with teams from across our organization (Operations, Analytics, Corporate Development, Business Development) to execute projects, build workflows, and create processes that will allow our business to grow and scale
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on time-sensitive and strategic operational improvement projects
  • Lead efforts in standing up new initiatives, project management, data processing and analysis, and presentation building simultaneously across multiple projects
  • Design and implement project management best practices
  • Provide input and contribute to strategic thought on partnerships with external stakeholders and vendors
  • Review, analyze, and operationalize government healthcare policy directives

The opportunity:

  • Join a team with extremely high visibility and be a core member in the office of the co-CEO (Brandon Sim)
  • Startup-like mentality and career trajectory in a recently IPO’d and rapidly growing company
  • Work closely with highly collaborative leadership teams across our organization
  • Be in an organization that sits between payer, provider, and patient and has unique visibility into the entire healthcare stack
  • Gain insight into the world of value-based care through the eyes of one of the most tech-forward healthcare companies in the nation

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 0-1+ years’ experience in project management, operations, or related fields
  • Ability to independently pursue and develop solutions to complex problems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Scrappy, eager, positive team player with no ego
  • Strong comfort with working in a fast-paced environment
  • An authentic passion for improving the lives of underserved patients and advancing value-based care

An ideal candidate will also have:

  • Experience working on multiple complex projects end-to-end
  • Previous work in consulting, investment banking, or equivalent skillset
  • Familiarity with programming a plus
