Sterile Processing Tech Job at Wheeling Hospital
Assumes responsibility for collecting, cleaning, processing, assembling and sterilizing surgical instruments and supplies. Assists with the maintenance and operational function of all internal equipment, instruments and supplies. Assists with designated activities in accordance with the policies of Wheeling Hospital. Performs functions in one or more areas of Central Services as necessary.

Previous Sterile Processing experience preferred. On the job training is provided. High school diploma or equivalent. IAHCSMM or CBSPD Sterile Processing Technician Certification required within 12 months of hire.
Medium (see job analysis). Long periods of standing. Large amount of walking possible per day, repetitive lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds. Working with contaminated/ bloody instruments and equipment. Must have the ability to wear PPE (hat, mask, gown, and shoe covers) for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to push or pull carts from one area to another.
