OUR STAFFING SPECIALIST POSITION
The primary focus for our Staffing Specialist is to ensure all shifts are covered for CNA/GNA and Nurses by managing the schedules for a 24/7 operation.

LOCATION
This position is based at 6121 Montross Rd, Rockville, MD. You will be part of a team of 3 Staffing Specialist.

SHIFTS & STATUS
This is a full time position, day shift.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Update daily staffing schedule according to unit needs assuring appropriate staffing for the delivery of excellent patient care.
  • Accurately enter and maintain schedule and attendance records in the computer.
  • Receive call-outs and enter data into the scheduling software system.
  • Schedule staff to fill vacant positions in the daily schedules according to established guidelines.
  • Schedule staff to fill vacant positions created by vacations, holidays and/or leaves of absence.
  • Distribute paychecks to nursing units and evening and night shift supervisors.
  • Assist with quality assurance related to staffing.
  • Coordinate orientation schedule of new hires with Human Resources.
  • Serve on, participate in and attend various committees of the facility as appointed.
  • Attend and participate in new-hire orientation.
  • Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., to keep abreast of current changes in the long-term-care field, as well as to maintain a professional status.
  • Attend and participate in annual in-service training programs.Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
  • Importance of maintaining confidentiality of all resident information.
  • Procedures to assist residents during emergency conditions, as needed based on guidelines and requests from the CEO, COO, or emergency coordinator.
  • Residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Some experience in healthcare/staffing/scheduling STRONGLY PREFERRED
  • On-the-job training provided
