Essential Job Functions

• Assists students with their treatment for minor illnesses and injuries and refers cases for more advanced treatments as needed
• Dispenses medication and provides medical treatment under the guidelines of physician's standing orders as needed
• Processes and reviews medical records in accordance with department of health and university regulations
• Records patients' complaints, performs assessments, treatments, and refers for treatment outside the university as needed
• Documents student visits and contacts to track the frequency of visits and illnesses so trend analysis can be completed
• Assists with educational programs that teach students about health related matters and to promote healthy practices on campus
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent formal training program
• Experience working in nursing or in other related work
• Registered nurse’s license
• Ability to work up to 28 hours per week (weekdays)
• Familiarity with COVID-19 symptoms and testing
• Experience using an electronic medical record

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
• Moderate amount of experience working in college health or an emergency/urgent care setting
