A Stabilization Interventionist (SI) provides support to Critical Intervention Specialists (CIS) in providing acute crisis response to individuals and their families in overcoming critical moments in their lives. They support clients that are referred to us by the Far Northern Regional Center, covering throughout Butte, Tehama, and Glenn counties and participates in weekly Clinical and administrative meetings at our Chico office.

The SI will also work in partnership with the Lead CIS and the Regional Center's designated liaison in order to provide the highest quality Critical Intervention Services. The SI is responsible for monitoring progress and stabilization goals as determined by the CIS. The SI will have an awareness of the Regional Center's system of care and work collaboratively with Lead CIS with whom they are paired. And lastly, the SI will follow guidance from Lead CIS. There is a huge emphasis on team and it is important for individuals to be team players.

Our ideal candidate would be someone who has graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or other related field. We prefer to have someone that has previous experience advocating, supporting, stabilizing, or working with those with either intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their inner and outer circle.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable providing crisis services within a small community with limited resources and being comfortable driving in and around the respective coverage area (including rural areas). The ideal candidate is tech savvy and comfortable learning to navigate the Electronic Health Record system. They would be adaptable and comfortable working independently, as-well-as within a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Caseload Management:

  • Partner with Lead CIS to meet with client's family/primary caregiver (typically in their home environment) and meet weekly with clients. Build and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Assist the Lead CIS with client intake.
  • Gather data for case reviews and stabilization plans and monitor progress.
  • Conduct weekly face-to-face visits with clients, independently.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Service Coordinator and Lead CIS.
  • Participate in case conferencing as needed with CIS and Administrative Team members.
  • Attend and participate in clinical meetings with community resources (such as Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Physicians, Therapists, etc.).
  • Provide training to group home or adult residential staff, circle of support, care-providers and family members on behavioral techniques aimed at preventing and stabilizing behavioral challenges while maintaining the individual at their home.
  • Implement positive programming strategies and engage in crisis assault training.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Lead, your Supervisor, Service Coordinator, residential staff, day program staff, care providers, family members and other members of the client's circle of support.
  • Present a high degree of professionalism and the ability to work effectively and in a collaborative manner with clients, professional agencies, other CIS and Administrative Team members.

Team Participation:

  • Actively participate in weekly CBEM team meetings and team builders.
  • Actively participate as a member of the team, working collaboratively with and supporting other staff.

Documentation:

  • Maintain professional written case notes that are submitted in a timely manner and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow and comply with all documentation guidelines reviewed during CBEM's new hire training program.

Billing:

  • Complete the assigned deliverable/billable hours per week, as assigned by your Supervisor.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate CBEM's critical intervention philosophy of positive behavioral practice, compassion and respect.
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement by providing ongoing information to the Service Coordinator at the Regional Center.
  • Attend all meetings on behalf of the client unless otherwise arranged with your Supervisor.
  • Attend workshops, trainings, and in-services provided by CBEM or by an outside agency, if asked by CBEM to do so.
  • Attend Regional Center drop-in clinic hours as directed by your Supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in psychology, counseling, social work, special education, behavioral science or related field
  • One year of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities with challenging behaviors is strongly preferred
  • Valid CA Driver's License, vehicle and proof of sufficient car insurance
  • Clearance of DOJ/FBI records (complete before hire)
  • Proof of Negative Tuberculosis Screening (upon hire)
